Fire crews managed to “coax” out a curious dog after it ran up a water pipe in a Northamptonshire village and became stuck.
The dog, called Commie, was out on a walk with its owner today in Brixworth when it suddenly ran off along a stream and into a water discharge pipe.
A spokesman for Northamptonshire & Rescue Service said: “The pipe which was approximately 10 inches in diameter, required clearing of debris which animals had taken into it and was most probably the reason for Commie’s curiosity.
“A crew from Brixworth and an animal rescue specialist assisted in the rescue and specialist animal rescue poles were used to assist this process.
“With a lot of coaxing, Commie was safely recovered.”
