Jim Mallinder is confident James Wilson will be fit to face Castres on Friday - despite seeing the full-back forced off in the win against Glasgow Warriors.
Wilson was withdrawn with a calf injury on 57 minutes, with Ryan Lamb coming on to replace him and fly-half Stephen Myler switching to 15.
It was feared the Kiwi could have suffered a recurrence of the muscle strain which kept him out of the 39-17 defeat at London Irish eight days earlier.
But Mallinder has allayed fears about Wilson’s injury and is hopeful the former Bourgoin player will be able to travel to France for Friday’s Heineken Cup round two clash.
“He just got a little bit of a strain to his calf which wasn’t what forced him to miss out a couple of weeks ago (at Irish),” said the Saints boss.
“Fingers crossed with a little bit of loving he’ll be fine for this week.”
And Wilson also sounded upbeat about the injury as he tweeted after the game.
He said: “Great to get the W with a bonus point in the bag! Thanks to everyone today @ The Gardens you helped us get that one! Leg is on the mend.”
