Park Avenue gained their second Northampton Table Tennis League Premier Division maximum in a row when they thrashed Malcolm Arnold Owls.
Hat-tricks came from Gerald Henson, Andy Wood and Jamie Chamberlain with the latter pair also combining to win the final doubles against John Askey and Aaron Lee.
This big win takes them to the top of the table, although this may give a false impression as already there have been three postponed matches and two teams have yet to play.
Malcolm Arnold A, who have their eyes on winning the title this season, had a shock in their local derby encounter with Malcolm Arnold Magpies when although Aiden Smith gave them a good lead with his hat-trick.
Henry Arthur and Lee O’Boyle hit back with two wins apiece and Aaron Moore with one win.
Brian Harradine won his game against Moore so, with the doubles to play, the Magpies led 5-4.
The A team brought in Andy Trott to play alongside Aiden in the final event and this proved to be influential as they beat Aaron and Lee 11-8, 11-6, 11-5 to force a 5-5 draw.
In division one, Gayton had an 8-2 win over Headlands Hawks with Martin Wilson and David Ewen recording hat-tricks.
Headlands Hares continued their good start to their division two season with a 10-0 win against their Herons team.
