A VAN driver deliberately knocked a man off his motorbike, then returned and kicked him while he was unconscious.
Glenn Tweed, 26, was jailed for two years at Northampton Crown Court for a road rage attack which hospitalised his victim.
Michael Waterfield, prosecuting, said Adam Laflin was talking with friends in North Oval, Kings Heath, on Thursday, May 31, when Tweed approached and asked who had been picking on his cousin. He said: “No one appeared to know what he was talking about so the defendant went back to the vehicle, shouting that he would be back later, and drove off. Five minutes later, he came back and drove straight into the bike.
“It knocked Mr Laflin off and in the process knocked him into the windscreen. The next thing he remembers is waking up in hospital.
“The other witnesses say he drove off, turned round and came back, again challenging the others to fight and kicked Mr Laflin on the floor.”
Tweed, of Highfields, Towcester, admitted attempted grievous bodily harm with intent and dangerous driving.
Judge Richard Bray, who also imposed a two-year driving ban, said: “It’s quite clear you completely lost your temper. Fortunately, the injuries were not as serious as they could have been.”
