Blisworth are back on top of the Duston Garage (Bosch Service) Premier Division after seeing off Welford at the same time as rivals Milton were dropping points.

Wayne Spicer got the first for Blisworth, but it needed second half goals from Connor Brown and Andy Seaton to break stubborn Welford resistance.

Milton travelled to face a Roade side that had lost their previous two matches.

The league leaders could not capitalise however as they were held 3-3 by the hosts.

Steve Carroll got all three of the home goals, while Nathan Cook opened Milton’s account before Lee Bradley added a double.

Moulton, Brixworth and Stanion all climbed the table after Welford’s reverse.

Moulton inflicted Heyford’s biggest defeat of the season so far, although the hosts can take some comfort from the fact that they are still scoring, netting for the fourth successive game with Blake Threadgold getting the goal.

Brixworth made best use of the conditions to defeat 10-man Nomads.

Adam Knight’s long throws caused the Nomads backline no end of difficulty and played a part in two of the goals, with Knight getting the third himself. Bobby Drain bagged three more for Stanion who pummelled derby rivals Khalsa 5-1 in the reversed fixture.

Stuart Clarke meanwhile was the Harpole hero, netting twice in the win over Pegasus.

NFA Lower Junior Cup

Four sides faced off against external opposition in the second round of the NFA Lower Junior Cup, with only two being successful.

Wollaston easily saw of the challenge of North Bucks League side Brackley Sports Reserves, while Ringstead dispatched Potterspury Reserves of the same competition.

Tony Simms scored a hat-trick and Chris Innes two as Ringstead cruised into the next round.

Duston Garage Division Three strugglers Great Doddington forced extra time in the tie with Syresham thanks to Shane Richardson’s goal, but it was not enough as the opposition won it with a goal in the additional period.

Spratton too exited the competition at the hands of Peterborough Sports Parkway.

The remaining ties were all-Combination affairs, and produced two upset results.

Division Three new-boys SPA stunned higher-level Corby Eagles with a 5-4 win. James Mallia opened the scoring, before Patrick O’Brien 2 and Danny Reboul added braces.

Duston Garage Division Four outfit Grange Park Rangers produced the biggest shock of the day knocking out two divisions higher Rising Sun in extra time.

Chris Pawlyszn scored for Rising Sun, but a Luke Emery brace was sufficient to eliminate the Wellingborough side.

There will be no second successive County Cup final for Drayton Grange as the Division Three leaders were knocked out on penalties by FC Titchmarsh after the sides shared 10 goals.

James Pamplin scored twice in the match for Titchmarsh who progressed 5-4 on spot kicks.

Things were better for neighbours Daventry Comms who progressed against Corby Redstar.

Colm Pacey was the Moulton hero, scoring twice to ensure his side eliminated Blisworth 3-2 to reach round three. Kael Talbot kept up his habit of scoring cup goals getting one of Old Grammarians three in the win over derby opponents Wilby.

Duston Garage (Bosch Service) Division One

After seven attempts, Gretton finally managed to get points on the board – and in some style.

The basement battle with Finedon Volta ended in the Kite’s favour, following a 10-goal haul.

Alex Booth stood head and shoulders above the rest scoring four times. Shain MacAlindon and Dave Harding deserve honourable mentions after scoring two apiece.

Orchard Park continue to languish at the wrong end of the table following a 3-1 reverse to Stanwick.

At the top Earls Barton, Corby Locos and Kislingbury continue to head the pack.

Adam Bridgeford netted first for the leaders in the 3-1 win over Everards, while Kislingbury twice came from behind to defeat Denton.

Robbie O’Neill opened the scoring for Denton, before Andy Wimpress pulled one back.

Liam Downes put Denton ahead again before Wimpress equalised a second time.

He would complete his hat-trick in the second half in between a brace from team-mate Hassan Kofi.

O’Neill scored his second and Johnny Shakespear another as Denton scored three late goals to keep alive hopes of an unlikely comeback.

Locos enjoyed a narrow win over Burton, inflicting the host’s first defeat in four matches.

Rothenberger Tools Division Two

Clipston picked up a first point in four matches, and denied Strip Mills the chance to move top of the table following the 2-2 draw.

Duston Garage (Bosch Service) Division Three

Top played bottom in a match that had almost everything, goals, penalties, disallowed goals, glaring misses, fight-backs and a late winner.

Leaders Weedon made the trip to Wellingborough, taking on a Gleneagles side still looking for a first victory.

Indeed the form book was well and truly thrown out of the window as Weedon twice went behind in the first half.

Connor Hartwell put Gleneagles one up after six minutes, before Weedon equalised on the counter.

Cavan Wardell restored Gleneagles lead from the spot. Weedon hit back immediately to send the sides in level at half-time.

Come the hour mark, Weedon had taken a 4-2 lead with two quick fire goals, including a spot-kick of their own.

Wardell pulled a goal back for the Eagles and should have completed a deserved treble, but could roll the ball across the face of the empty net after rounding the visitor’s keeper.

An offside flag denied Gleneagles a fourth, but Hartwell added his second minutes later.

The fight back instilled some fire in Weedon bellies and with five minutes to go they snatched a winner.

Ferrers bounced back from last week’s reverse to claim a narrow victory over Walgrave.

Adam Walsh equalised the Amber opener before Gary Broadway struck the winner.

Rivals FC Higham made it three wins on the spin after defeating West Haddon by the same margin. Tom Martin and Danny Bird got the goals.

Luke Heath struck twice in normal time to ensure Corby United secured a semi-final berth.

His goals were enough to overcome stubborn Desborough & Rothwell United resistance. Albion Vikings will join them in the next round after defeating Wilbarston.

Duston Garage (Bosch Service) Division Four

Both victorious sides netted five goals, although Higham Town’s defence was the tighter of the two shipping only one.

Eric Tilacks scored what was to prove just a consolation for AFC Rothwell as Higham powered to victory thanks to Ryan Knight who netted four times. James Scott added the other.

For Hellenic Fisher, derby day pride was at stake following the short trip to Kingswood.

The now-obligatory Alex Williams strike featured, alongside efforts from Jordan Ware, Ashley White, Dan Brown and Darren Murray.

Duston Garage (Great Wall Cars) Reserve Premier Division

Bugbrooke A enjoyed a good day and tightened the grip on top spot by defeating Pegasus 4-2.

Nearest challengers Brixworth fell further behind, with defeat to Kettering Nomads allowing the Badgers to open up a six point gap.

Cellar-dwellers Roade and Milton faced off in the second half of the double header and cancelled one another out in a 1-1 draw. Greg Reis scored for Milton, with Ali Foote replying for Roade.

Both sides are still without a league win this season, but the point benefits both sides that close on Moulton.

ON Chenecks A and Harpole shared 13 goals in their encounter, with the Northampton side emerging victorious 7-6.

Ashley Burton netted three for Harpole, with the other goals coming from Jamie Bedford (2) and Max Winters. Eduino Furtado and Daryl Moore scored a hat-trick and doub;e respectively for ONs with the decisive goals coming from Callum Norfolk and Marcus Berglund.
