THE Cobblers will open their npower League Two campaign with a trip to Spotland to take on Rochdale.
Aidy Boothroyd’s men don’t start the new season until August 18 due to the London Olympics, and their first home game will be on Tuesday, August 21 against Rotherham United and Southend United then come to Sixfields on August 25.
The first long trip of the season then follows on September 1 when Town must go to Devon to take on Plymouth Argyle.
The fixtures haven’t been very kind over Christmas for the Cobblers, as they travel to Wimbledon on Boxing Day and Gillingham on Saturday, December 29, although Dagenham & Redbridge come to Sixfields on New Year’s Day.
The season ends on April 27 with a home clash against Barnet, while the derby dates against Oxford United are on Saturday, November 24 at the Kassam Stadium and Saturday, March 23 at Sixfields.
Town’s first trip to Fleetwood Town is pencilled in for Saturday, September 15, while the Blue Square Premier champions come to Sixfields on Saturday, January 25.
Town have been lucky with the Devon trips, as they all fall on a Saturday.
As well as Plymouth on September 1, Town go to Torquay United on December 15 and Exeter City on March 2.
The standout lengthy midweek trip is to York City on Tuesday, November 6, while Town also face a Tuesday night trip to Morecambe on March 12.
