A motorist has died after falling ill at the wheel and crashing into a lamppost.
The 65-year-old victim was pronounced dead following a collision which on Monday at approximately 8.45am on Castle Way, in Wellingborough.
He was driving a brown Vauxhall Astra along Castle Way towards the Sheep Street junction when the driver suffered “a medical episode” causing the car to come of the main road and hit a lamppost.
The driver, who is from Rushden, was taken to Kettering General Hospital but later died.
