COMBINATION ROUND-UP: Roade’s four-star Pugh shatters Bugbrooke

Roade surprisingly inflicted a first Duston Garage (Great Wall Cars) Reserve Premier Division defeat in eight matches on Bugbrooke A, toppling the leaders in the process.

Craig Pugh scored four goals in the romp, and a miserable day for the Badgers was completed as other results saw them tumble to fourth place.

Brixworth dismantled Ringstead 8-2 to claim the lead, while Alex Chaffer, Dale Lewis, and Alex Waynforth all netted for Blisworth who came from behind to defeat Moulton and move second.

William Wild scored two for Pegasus who still went down 5-2 to now-third placed Weldon.

Harpole enjoyed a further big win smashing seven past ON Chenecks A while Spencer defeated Nomads.

Welford picked up a fifth win on the bounce with a Craig Cassidy goal sealing victory against Milton.

The win coupled with Blisworth’s surprise defeat puts the Vics top of the league this week.

Chris Dickens got the Moulton winner in the victory against leaders Blisworth.

Khalsa defeated Pegasus in the Corby derby. Heyford suffered further ignominy in the 9-0 reverse to Brixworth while Harpole overcame Weldon.

Leaders Earls Barton moved one step closer to glory after defeating Everards thanks to an Aynsley MacDonald brace.

Johnny Shakespeare doubled up for Denton in the win over Burton, while Stanwick thrashed Volta.

Rothenberger Tools Division Two

Paul Caswell netted three times for Eagles in the victory over Daventry Comms to claim top spot.

Darren Haldane ensured that Strip Mills stay in touch at the top after defeating Rising Sun.

Clipston secured a vital point against Redstar while bottom side Spratton lost to Wilby.

West Haddon hotshot Meiya netted twice in the 6-1 romp over Great Doddington, while Gleneagles secured a first point in five matches after drawing with Grange Park Rangers.

Gareth Pope scored the only goal of the game to seal the win for Park Rovers against Kingswood. Joe Livingstone scored twice for Wilbarston, but a Jamie Irvine brace sealed the win for Corby Ravens.

Rick Partridge struck a brace for Welford who conquered Old Grammarians on penalties.

Scoring four goals in a game is usually enough to seal victory for your side and Medbourne’s Andy Axom could be forgiven for feeling hard done by as Kislingbury held his side to a 5-5 draw!

Weldon A were the gained the most from the draw between Stanion and Earls Barton, leapfrogging the latter into second place.

Cameron Starsmore got three for leaders Harborough A who maintained a three point advantage over the three chasing sides.

Four goals each for Wollaston and Wilby were sufficient to seal wins over Hellenic and Strip Mills, while Spratton enjoyed the better part of a 10-goal game to defeat Titchmarsh.

Volta secured a first point in three matches against nearby Higham.

NTFA NBC Cup

Only Walgrave emerged with any credit against Town League opposition in the NBC cup, but it was far from plain sailing.

The Amber emerged on top in a nine goal encounter.

Danny Wagstaff netted twice in consolation for Titchmarsh who went out to JLB in extra time.

Adam Russell and Matt Pheely scored the goals for Exiles in the derby win over SPA while Borough Alliance defeated Albion Vikings.

Wollaston eliminated Hardingstone on penalties to leave only one Town League side remaining in the competition.
