The body of a man found in the River Nene in Northampton on February 1 has been confirmed as that of Artur Liana.
Northamptonshire Police said this afternoon that they performed DNA tests leading to a positive identification of the 32-year-old.
A spokeswoman said: “Officers do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances and will now be preparing a report for the coroner.”
The Polish security guard went missing on December 22 last year.
Detectives have previously said they feared he may have fallen into the river after a night out in Northampton.
The last known CCTV footage of him, at 1.35am, shows Mr Liana heading along St Giles Street.
Police said they assumed he was on his way towards The Old Bank pub, in St Giles’ Square, or Groove nightclub, in Gold Street, where his friends had moved on to.
