Detectives have today released a photograph of a man they want to speak to in connection with a knife attack in Northampton town centre eight months ago.
The attack happened at around 4.30am on Tuesday, July 10, when a 19-year-old man was found at the junction of Barrack Road and Regent Square, in Northampton town centre, by a member of the public.
Police say he had suffered serious facial injuries which required extensive surgery.
They today released a photo of Cagri Ufacik, a man who has links to Northampton and detectives say they want to speak to in connection with the attack.
The attack happened as the victim was walking home after a night out and became involved in an argument with a man and a woman.
He was then attacked by a man with a knife, leaving him with cuts to the face, chest and arms.
There was no CCTV footage of the attack and no witnesses.
Police have today released the photograph following a recent development in the investigation.
Detective Constable Cathy O’Connor, who is leading the investigation, said: “We have carried out a number of enquiries since the incident last year. However, we believe there are people with information still out there.
“We believe that Mr Cagri Ufacik, who we have released a picture of, may have vital information about the incident and we would urge him or anyone who may know of his whereabouts to contact us on 101.”
