Long Buckby boss Scott Goodwin says his side need another six points to secure their UCL Premier Division status.
The Bucks have been hit by a winless streak which now stretches to 11 games following their 2-1 derby defeat at Cogenhoe United on Monday.
Goodwin’s men, who currently sit 14th, have only accrued 36 points from their 35 league games this season and are just nine points above the drop zone.
But with the majority of sides below them having plenty of games in hand, Buckby will be casting nervous glances towards the bottom end of the table during their final five games.
And Goodwin said: “We’re far from safe. A true supporter of this league will look at the situation and say Long Buckby are in trouble.
“I know we’re in a relegation battle and we need at least another six points from where we are. This is a funny league and anyone can beat anyone.”
Goodwin’s side now take on table-toppers Holbeach United on Saturday before travelling to third-placed Spalding United a week later.
