A pensioner in her 80s was dragged along a road by a car as she tried to hold onto her bag which had been snatched by thieves who pulled over to ask for directions.
The woman, who is 81, was targeted on Friday night, at 9.30pm as she walked along Sotheby Rise, in Ecton Brook.
A police spokesman said: “The victim was walking along Sotheby Rise when a vehicle approached her at a slow speed.
“A man shouted something from the vehicle that sounded like he was asking for directions.
“When the victim approached the vehicle, the passenger leaned out of the window and grabbed her bag.
“The victim tried to keep hold of the bag as the vehicle started to drive away. As a result, she was dragged a short distance before having to let go.”
The woman suffered bruising as a result. The men are both in their 20s and were driving a saloon type of car.
