A burglar was caught filling shopping bags with items to steal from a house he had broken into by the homeowner before running off with a laptop, cash and clothing.
The incident happen on Wednesday, April 17, at about 8.30pm at a property in Wellingborough Road, Northampton.
The burglar forced his way through the front door of the house before searching the first and second floor.
A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: “He filled two shopping bags with items from the house, but was disturbed by the owner, before he could leave.
“The victim attempted to take the bags from the offender.
“He dropped one of the bags and then ran off, with the other bag, towards Weston Favell.”
The burglar is white, about 30 years old, about 5ft 9in and of a medium build.
He wore a dark baseball cap and a black bomber jacket.
