CAMERON SHEPHERD has signed for Sale Sharks – little more than a week after Saints pulled the plug on a deal to sign the Australian winger.
Shepherd signed for Saints back in May but the club put a stop to the deal last Monday on advice from their medical team.
Sale don’t seem to have a problem with the player’s fitness, though, and they have given the 28-year-old former Western Force ace a chance to prove himself in the Premiership.
And Sale chief executive Steve Diamond and director of rugby Bryan Redpath are hopeful Shepherd will bolster their club’s title bid.
“It’s a pleasure to have Cameron on board,” said Diamond. “He’s an experienced back three player who adds to our strength in depth.
“We realised that he was available and decided to invite him to Sale Sharks to train with us.”
Redpath added: “Cameron has got great pedigree. We’re hoping to get him fully fit, so that he can seize the opportunity to make a big impact for this club.”
