SUNDAY COMBINATION: Corinthians close in on title triumph

Sunnyside Corinthians are just one win away from securing the championship thanks to a 2-0 victory over Dynamo last weekend.

Lewis Reynolds got both the goals for Corinthians, to put them top by a point with one game in hand and two left to play.

St Margaret’s failed to find the back of the net again as they went down 4-0 at Standens Barn, who will now finish in third place.

Danny Brown, Ashley Bradshaw, Ben Foster and Charlie Wixon got the goals for Barn.

James Ellis bagged both goals for AC Squirrels in a 2-2 draw with Royals. James Church and Darek Gawedski ensured a point for the Posties.

Jamie Cunningham struck for Blakesley but couldn’t prevent them from suffering a 4-1 defeat to Monks Park WMC, who scored through Dean Ainsworth, Fabian Brown, Elliott Muddiman and an own goal.

Harpole moved back to top spot in division one with a 4-2 win over Fox & Hounds.

They had led 4-0 at half-time with goals from Dean Mills (2), Josh Winters and Owen Phillips. Chris Aveyard and David Lugg hit back for Fox.

Manfield Rangers lifted themselves off the bottom of the table with a 6-2 win over MDS Rangers.

Dave Hodson led the way with a hat-trick, while there were singles from Kane Everson, Jack Rayment and Mark Raymond.

Midshire Electical and Sunnyside Corinthians Reserves fought out a 3-3 draw.

Ross Skidmore, Lee Moore and Steven Parry netted for Midshire, while Lee McConnell (2) and Tom Anscomb replied for Corinthians.

Roade lost their unbeaten record as they slumped to a 2-0 by Devonshire Club. Joe Handley and Shane Lyons got the goals.

St Margaret’s A faced Monks Park WMC Club Res and were on the end of an 11-1 pasting. Dan Carley and Matt Calis both hit hat-tricks for Park.

AFC Dee had to settle for a point as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Manfield Rangers Reserves. Aaron O’Leary netted for Dee, with Paul Thacker doing likewise for Manfield.

Zedi United and Obelisk United were also involved in a 1-1 draw. Nick Pankioski struck for Zedi, but Kirk Baker’s goal ensured it was honours even.

Chris Moore’s penalty proved decisive as Butcher Loco edged out FC Gallery 1-0 in division four.

Workhouse were big winners as they secured a 4-1 success at Obelisk United Reserves, while Brendon Healey scored four as Windmill Warriors hit double figures in a 10-0 win over Royals.

Stuart Schofield, Alex Bage and Andrew Mosdell were all on target to ensure Staples took the points in a 3-2 win at FC Ryan Munich.

Two wins from three games will see South Northants clinch the title. Jon Brown’s goal saw them edge out FC Locomotiv Moulton FC Reserves 1-0 on Sunday.

Hartwell Forest picked up a 3-2 away success against FC Gallery Reserves, Ross Marriott scoring twice in the win.

Vesta secured their 12th win of the season, winning 4-1 at The District. Ben Ribano scored for District but strikes from Tom Strand (2), Steve Knight and Adam Hayes did the trick for Vesta.

Ben Brakes hit a brace in Abington Stanley’s 5-1 win at Spring Park. Iain Holland-Hay, Max Andrews and Adam Midson also netted, Martin Cox scored Park’s consolation.
