Northampton Town bosses have revealed more than 6,000 Wembley tickets have already been snapped up by Cobblers season ticket holders.
Seats for the League 2 Play-Off Final went on sale to Sixfields season ticket holders only at 9.30am yesterday morning.
And by 7.30pm last night more than 6,000 tickets have been bought by fans.
The club says it is expecting a quieter day today, before the main bulk of tickets will be sold over the coming days.
Tickets will go on general sale to fans across the town from 9.30am tomorrow, with a maximum of 9 tickets per person.
The Cobblers will have around 40,000 tickets for the play-off final against Bradford City, the club revealed early this week.
It will be the club’s first visit to Wembley since the Second Division play-off final against Grimsby Town in 1998.
Tickets will remain on sale 24 hours a day, every day, until noon on Tuesday, May 14.
There are dedicated family areas at Wembley – the rear of blocks 105 to 108, plus row one on level 5. Supporters should please advise their Ticketmaster operative if they wish to sit in these areas.
A club spokesman added: “Northampton Town are hoping to create a dedicated singing area for supporters who want to encourage the team with vocal backing. These are blocks 111 and 112 and 212.
“This covers all price points apart from category 1. Again supporters should please advise their Ticketmaster operative if they wish to sit in these areas.”
Tickets are priced as follows:
Category 5 tickets are £26, £13 concessions
Category 4 tickets are £32, £16 concessions
Category 3 tickets are £38, £19 concessions
Category 2 tickets are £48, £24 concessions
Category 1 tickets are £60, £30 concessions
Concessions are aged 16 and under and aged 65 and over.
The tickets are being sold on Northampton Town’s behalf by Ticketmaster. They will not be available from Sixfields.
