SUNDAY COMBINATION: Sunnyside shine as they seal league and cup double

Sunnyside sealed a superb double after beating St Margaret’s in the Goodliff Cup final at Sixfields on Sunday.

Corinthians beat Sunday Combination premier division rivals St Margaret’s 3-1 at the home of the Cobblers to add to their premier division crown.

It wasn’t such good news for Ryan Munich, who lost 2-1 to Conference side Melbourne Arms in the Plester Shield final.

Roade took the Chronicle & Echo Cup honours, sweeping aside Duston & Diamonds 4-1 thanks to goals from Craig Smith (2), Steve Carroll and Mickey Ryan.

The MDH Teamwear Cup honours went to Harpole, who beat AFC Houghton Magna 3-1.

Back in the premier division, Standens Barn snatched the runners-up spot from James King Blisworth on goal difference thanks to a 3-2 win over Monks Park WMC.

Perry Moore, Ashley Bradshaw and Mark Duncan netted for Barn, while Reece Coleman and Fabian Brown hit back for Blisworth, who have to settle for third.

It was the loss to AC Squirrels that cost Blisworth, Ollie Anderson scored for them but a Bobby Lane double and singles for James King and Adam Frost saw the points go to Squirrels.

Golden Horse sealed the division three title in style as they thrashed FC Locomotiv Moulton 8-0. Leon Cosford led the scoring with four.

Nene FC were on the end of an 11-3 bashing by AFC Dee. Anthony Bell (2) and Jason Bazeley scored for Nene.

Adam Russell (2), Kieran Faulkner (2), James Faulkner (2), Jack Kaare (2), Adam Burton, Neil Holt and an own goal accounted for Dee’s strikes.

Kirk Baker Scott Rich, Andre Codner, Alex O’Grady and Curtis Brian were all on target to steer Obelisk United to a 5-2 win at Manfield Rangers Reserves,

Rishi Patel and Sam Dengel netted for Rangers.

Windmill Warriors rattled eight past Workhouse FC and in doing so claimed the division four title.

Sam Irons led the way with a hat-trick, with the other goals coming from Liam Dolman (2), Russell Aitkin, Henry Wright and Ryan Durcan.

Butcher Loco take runner-up place with a game to play as they had to settle for a 2-2 draw with Royals Reserves.

Luke Spanswick and Ben Paul scored for Royals, Chris Moore hitting two in reply for Loco.

Staples ended their season with a 4-2 win over Victoria Park Rangers. Dan Young netted both for Rangers but strikes from Sylvain Pabouef, Stuart Schofield Antony Fragola and Paul Lambert saw Staples home.

Goals from Rolla Norton (3), Rob Camper (2), Dave Wright and Martin Blackwell secured the division five title for South Northants in a 7-2 away win over Abington Stanley who replied through Richard Corless and Iain Holland–Hay.

Hartwell Forest have given Vesta FC a chance to pinch the runner-up spot from them following a 2-0 defeat by Northampton Hotspur. Nick Marshall and Karl Hoy scored for Hotspur.

Thorplands Club 81 A dropped more points when they faced Vesta and ended up losing 5-2.

Rob Pinney, Jordan Capps, Adam Hayes, Tom Strand and Stevie Knight got the goals.

Locomotiv Moulton Reserves kept a clean sheet when taking on FC Gallery Reserves and claimed an easy 4-0 win thanks to a hat-trick from Simon Moore and one from Steve Osborne.
