THE treble is on for Earls Barton after they secured a second cup final success at Sixfields on Saturday.

Barton beat a stubborn Corby Locos side 3-2 to win the Gorrell Barnes Cup.

Tom Randall put Earls Barton ahead inside a minute following a goalkeeping error.

The post denied Barton a second goal shortly before the break and spurred Locos on.

Seven minutes after the break, Locos equalised with their first clear attack.

A second goalkeeping error of the afternoon started a calamitous sequence of events that saw Adam Speight put through his own net.

Justin Dowling put Barton ahead on 70 minutes before Lee Sinclair equalised a second time.

With eight minutes remaining Tom Randall scored his second to seal victory for Barton.

Dowling also scored twice in midweek in the league to leave Barton four points away from claiming the division one title.

Successive wins over Wootton and Orchard Park put Kislingbury up into second place.

In division two, Redstar and Grammarians shared 11 goals in a thriller. Lee McEwan scored two of Redstar’s four goals.

Titchmarsh had an up and down week in division three, winning once and losing twice in the week.

Walgrave followed suit, with the midweek victory being followed by a weekend reverse to FC Higham.

A brace for Ross Arundel sealed the reserve premier division crown for Blisworth in a 6-0 derby win over Harpole.

Bugbrooke A smashed Brixworth, but the result provided little consolation.

Despite having relegation confirmed at the weekend, Nomads looked to end with a flourish after smashing five past Brixworth in midweek.

Milton look set to join them after drawing with Weldon. Stuart Schofield scored twice for Milton but two goals for Jay Arnold gave Weldon a share of the points.

Ringstead, three points ahead and with three games in hand know a single point will be enough to stay up.

Defeat against Moulton at the weekend makes for a nervy finish, but the Gladstone Street side are masters of their own destiny.

Leo MacDonald netted three times for Roade against soon-to-depart Spencer.

Medbourne retained their reserve division sne status by the skin of their teeth.

Defeat to Locos on Tuesday made the threat loom large, and a 5-4 defeat to Everards kept things risky.

Pete Harding netted twice in the defeat. However Heyford’s victory over Orchard Park sends them down instead.

Champions Stanion picked up a seventeenth league win against Welford.

Old Grammarians moved second with a mammoth Duston Garage Star Award winning victory over Kislingbury.

Mark Fletcher (6), Stuart Last (3), Callum Worrall (2) and strikes from David Mayhew and Scott Gathercole saw the Wellingborough side romp to a 13-0 win.

In reserve division two, Harborough A achieved the promotion that early season form deserved with a nap win over Volta that secured the runners-up spot from Wilby.

Jason Jacobs was the Strip Mills hero scoring the decisive goal as the Corby side inflicted Wollaston’s second successive defeat.
