Two robbers on a motorbike made off with a cash box after attacking a security guard in a robbery at a Northampton bank this morning.
The incident happened at Barclays Bank, in Weedon Road, St James at about 11.35am.
The two men stopped outside on a silver motorcycle, assaulted the guard, stole his cash box and made off from the scene.
Officers are appealing for witnesses, or anyone who may have seen the two men heading off along Harlestone Road, to get in touch.
Police are particularly keen to speak to one man who is believed to have witnessed the incident.
He is white, in his 40s or 50s, a medium build and with brown, mid-length hair and possibly had a moustache.
He wore blue jeans and a bright red jumper and was possibly carrying a rucksack on his back, which had two white shoulder straps.
