A drug dealer who was caught with cannabis, a knuckle-duster and a battery operated stun gun has been jailed for 12 months.

Michael Reilly, aged 24, of Friars Crescent, Northampton, was jailed at Northampton Crown Court this week after he was arrested at 9.05pm on May 10 while driving a quad bike, with no tax, MOT or insurance, and without headlights on, along Rothersthorpe Road.

Police found cannabis and a knuckle-duster in a bag he was carrying. A stun gun was then found when police searched his home.

The court heard Reilly was in possession of £1,500 of cannabis, although he told the court the quantity was considerably less.

He pleaded guilty to the possession of a class B drugs with intent to supply, possession of the knuckle-duster and stun gun, as well as driving offences. He was sentenced to one year in prison yesterday.

Sentencing him, Judge Michael Fowler said: “Committing the offence of possession of cannabis with the intent to supply as part of an ongoing supply, combined with possession of not one but two offensive weapons makes it impossible for me to take any course other than to impose an immediate custodial sentence.”
