A six-month-old boy was taken to hospital in a “serious but stable” condition, following a crash in Northamptonshire last night.

The baby was injured following the serious road traffic collision, which happened at around 8pm, on the A6, towards Burton Latimer.

Police say a red Ford Ka, travelling on the A6 from Finedon towards Burton Latimer, collided with a blue Renault Scenic, which was travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Ford, an 18-year-old man from Stanwick, was taken to Walsgrave Hospital in a “serious but not life threatening condition”. The driver of the Renault, a 28-year-old woman from Burton Latimer, and a passenger, suffered minor injuries.

The six-month-old boy, who was also in the Renault, was taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, in a “serious but stable condition”.
