Rail services in and around Northampton have been delayed today after an apparent fatality on the train line near Rugby last night.
Some train lines have now reopened but commuters are being warned services may be cancelled after a person was hit on the line at the Clifton Road bridge.
London Midland says services could be delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised at short notice.
Chiltern Railways services is conveying passengers between Birmingham Snow Hill and London Marylebone via Solihull in both directions until further notice.
Arrangements have been made for London Midland rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys.
Train conductors this morning told commuters the delays were caused by a “fatality” on the line, however, British Transport Police have yet to comment on the incident.
