A passenger on a Northampton-bound train had her mobile phone snatched from her hands while she was asleep, police have said.
British Transport Police say the phone was stolen on a Euston to Northampton, on Monday, April 22, and have today released this CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the theft.
Pc Simon Cherrington, the investigating officer, said: “The victim, a 30-year-old from Northampton, boarded the train at Euston at about 10.30pm.
“As she began to fall asleep on the train, she felt someone tug at her phone in her hands.
“As she woke up and opened her eyes she released her phone had been stolen and a man had ran off.”
He added: “We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may be able to help.
“We are particularly keen to speak to the man pictured as he may have information which proves vital to our investigation.”
