Girls as young as 14 involved in brutal armed robbery in east Northampton

A dozen teenage thugs - including girls aged as young as 14 - armed themselves with sticks, metal bars and snooker cues before attacking three men close to an underpass in the eastern districts of Northampton.

Police today said the attack happened between 12.15am and 1am on Saturday in Laceby Walk, Goldings, on a footpath near to an underpass under Talavera Way on the Southfields side of the road.

The victims were set upon by the gang with all three injured in the process. One of the victims had his wallet and phone stolen.

The group included both girls and boys aged 14-15, some of whom were black and some white. One of the offenders was described as a “black boy”, who was wearing a red zip-up Adidas hooded top.
