Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon has visited Avon’s offices to chat to staff in Northampton.

In her role as the cosmetics company’s beauty and empowerment ambassador, the singer and presenter paid a visit to Avon’s Northamptonshire-based offices in Northampton and Corby to support the company’s latest make-up collection launch.

Alesha signed autographs and tried her hand at packing representative orders on the production floor. The lucky employees also took part in a beauty amnesty, where the glamorous star encouraged them to trade old make-up for a product from the new range. Online make-up sensation, Pixiwoo, was also on hand to offer unique make-up tips to employees.

More than 1,500 Avon employees across the sites at Nunn Mills Road in Northampton and at Earlstrees industrial estate in Corby, were yesterday given an exclusive preview of the new collection, due to officially launch in August.

Alesha, who recently announced she was expecting her first child, said: “Avon is such an iconic brand and it’s wonderful to have had the chance to help launch the new make-up range. The day was special for me to be able to meet the people behind the brand and reward their hard work and dedication to a company which not only accentuates women’s natural beauty, but encourages them to feel empowered.”

Andrea Slater, Avon UK’s general manager, added: “We were thrilled to have Alesha visit. The day was spectacular with a brilliant atmosphere as everyone came together. Avon has been a global authority on colour for over 125 years. With this level of expertise we have been able to utilise state of the art technology to create the best colour range ever and our 1500 employees were delighted to have the new range unveiled by Alesha herself.”
