A ground-breaking new advertising campaign designed to bring business to Northamptonshire has been launched this week on the London Underground.
The Love Northamptonshire campaign will see posters going up on the escalators, ticket halls and platforms of Euston and Kings Cross/St Pancras stations for two weeks which build on the county’s recent nomination as the most enterprising place in the UK and a cost-effective business location one hour from the capital.
In addition to the poster campaign, so-called “look walkers” - campaigners carrying portable billboards - wearing branded T-shirts will be operating outside the stations targeting business commuters. In addition to that, there will also be advertising on the LBC radio website.
The cost to the county council will be £8,000 and coincides with the launch of LOCATE, a new initiative alongside the Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership offering grants of up to £20,000 to encourage London-based businesses employing less than 250 people to move to this area.
Tim Bagshaw, head of investment at NEP, said: “We encourage businesses that might be considering a future move to get in touch and take advantage of our support package and incentives such as LOCATE now.”
Paul Blantern, the county council’s chief executive, said: “Northamptonshire has a lot to offer both as a place for businesses to invest and as a great place in which to live. However one of the biggest challenges we have is letting people know where we are. That’s where LOCATE and Love Northamptonshire come in as clearly attracting businesses to the county has many benefits for the local economy, especially in job creation.”
The round one closing date for applications for the LOCATE fund is July 31. For more details visit www.northamptonshireep.co.uk/locate. For more information about Love Northamptonshire visit www.lovenorthamptonshire.com
