A man was assaulted in front of his young son by another dog owner, after their two Staffordshire bull terriers were involved in a fight outside a chemist.

The incident happened outside Jhotts Pharmacy in Wilks Walk, Grange Park, between 12.50pm and 1.05pm on Friday, July 12.

The man and his young son were sitting eating lunch outside the pharmacy, and their pet Staffordshire bull terrier was lying down tied to a tree next to them.

The dog was then attacked by another Staffordshire bull terrier, which was not on a lead, and the man had to kick at the dogs to separate them.

The owner of the second dog then appeared, argued with the man and assaulted him.

Witnesses to this incident, or anyone with information, can call Northamptonshire Police on 101. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
