Work has started to demolish the old footbridge at Northampton railway station, as part of the ongoing redevelopment of the site.
A temporary bridge is replacing the old footbridge, while the existing pick-up and drop-off points are also being redesigned.
A 750-tonne crane will arrive over the August bank holiday weekend to remove the bridge completely.
Den Law, delivery manager for the new Northampton station, attended a meeting of Northampton Rail Users Group to update them on progress.
He said he was in daily contact with the builders on the site.
Work on the station is due to be completed by summer 2014.
