Today, we highlight Bias in Market Walk.
A boutique at the heart of Northampton’s fashion quarter was named the town’s favourite independent retailer after more than 10 years of trading.
Bias, based in Market Walk, won the Facebook poll to find Northampton town centre’s most popular independent trader earlier this month and owner Mike Webb said the secret to the store’s success was the quality of its products and commitment to customer service.
He said: “It’s down to service levels really, we will always go the extra mile for our customers and I think that’s the same in the majority of independent stores.
“We offer people a bit more individuality, we’re very mindful of the products we choose to stock.
When girls go out on the town they don’t all want to be wearing the same shoes or carrying the same bag so we try to offer something different.
“The things we sell are always very high quality but maybe they’re also little bit more contemporary, edgy and fun than you get elsewhere, everyone loves coming in here for a look around.”
Bias has been trading in Northampton since 2002 and has seen the High Street evolve rapidly in that time.
Mr Webb said: “I am very proud of trading in Northampton, we have a great selection of independent and there’s a real community feel among us. There’s lots of us all trying to make it
work.
“We just need people to start having a bit more confidence in the town centre and then it can take off.”
