A 21-year-old who has 39 convictions for a range of offences has been jailed for two-and-a-half years after burgling a house in Northampton.
Jack Turner, of Herbert Street, Northampton, appeared at Northampton Crown Court on Thursday and pleaded guilty to stealing an iPad, iPod and jewellery from a house in Kettering Road on June 13.
William Falshaw, prosecuting, said the owners of the property were on holiday when Turner gained entry to the house by ripping off a bathroom window.
Turner was caught after forensic investigators managed to get a fingerprint off a jar and a radio box he had touched.
Mr Falshaw said Turner had been convicted of 39 other crimes including two other burglaries.
Judge Michael Fowler, sentencing, said: “Twenty one-years-old is very young to have this number of offence and this is your third conviction for burglary so I must impose a sentence of three years.”
Turner was sentenced to 29 months in prison as he was given credit for his guilty plea. He must pay a £120 victim surcharge.
