A woman has appeared in court accused of setting fire to groceries in a shop and assaulting a member of staff in an allegedly racially-aggravated attack.
Amy Wright is accused of destroying £100 of groceries at Rakesh Stores, in Tamar Square, Daventry, on July 31, before attacking Rakesh Patel, and stealing three bottles of beer.
Wright, aged 19, of Whilton Lodge Stables, Whilton, appeared at Northampton Magistrates Court charged with arson, theft, racially-aggravated assault, assault by beating, criminal damage, and racially-aggravated criminal damage.
No pleas were entered and the case was adjourned to October for reports. Wright was released on bail.
