New branches of Starbucks, Subway and Evans Cycles could soon open in Sixfields.
Plans have been submitted to Northampton Borough Council to build the stores on land close to Sainsburys, in Weedon Road, which is currently occupied by a tile shop and a car forecourt.
The developers behind the scheme said it would have a “very positive impact” on the area, which they said currently had a “semi-derelict appearance”.
Officials from the council will decide if the development should go ahead by the middle of April.
