A DECISION is due to be made tonight on a proposal to build 150 houses to the south of Brixworth.
Dozens of village residents are expected to attend the Daventry District Council planning committee meeting which will start at 6.15pm.
The housing development, which includes a new play area, car park and access road, has been recommended for approval despite the council receiving 175 letters of objection.
The planning application, put forward by BDW Trading Ltd, also faces opposition from Brixworth, Scaldwell, and Boughton Parish Councils as well as the Environment Agency which has said the scheme does not have an acceptable flood risk assessment.
In a report ahead of the meeting, planning case officer Steve Ellis has recommended the plan for approval as the scheme layout and design is “considered to be acceptable” as it is not considered that the adverse impacts of allowing the development would significantly or demonstrably outweigh the benefits.”
