THERE is still time for Northampton residents to have their say about alcohol-related anti-social behaviour.
Northampton Borough Council is urging local residents and businesses to join an online consultation about the town’s low tolerance approach to dealing with anti-social street drinking.
The consultation follows the introduction of a Designated Public Places Order.
Since introducing the new powers the police are able to confiscate alcohol from people drinking in a public place if it was associated with, or looked as though it could lead to, anti-social behaviour.
The consultation aims to uncover if residents and businesses support the town’s approach to dealing with anti-social behaviour.
Councillor David Mackintosh, leader of Northampton Borough Council, said: “We’re encouraging everyone to share their views on this important and unpleasant issue. We’re committed to making sure our town is a safe place for everyone.”
